A series of 6 large lithographs of vessels used in the carriage of cargo (as well, sometimes as passengers) from various parts of the world. These prints are all Hugh Evelyn prints and were published by Hempel’s Marine Paints in the late 1960’s or very early 1970’s. Hempels were and remain one of the leading suppliers of coating for marine protection. They are headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.
All Prints measure approx 43.5 cm w x 35.5 cm h (17 ins w x 14 ins h). These dimensions can vary slightly dependant upon the cut made by the printer 50 years ago. These are all photographs of the prints so colour, shading and text may vary slightly from the prints themselves. We believe these images were to form a book or part of one. They were all drawn by John Gardner who painted most of our other sailing craft on this website.
