It occurred to us that some of you might be interested to see the Forward to Hugh’s book on the early steamships of the Royal Navy. It was written by Lord Mountbatten in 1971.
Meanwhile Hugh Evelyn Street (on the right) was busy doing the same thing 50 years ago at the world’s first purpose built race track for cars - Brooklands, near Weybridge in Surrey, England. Here he is at a Brooklands Society reunion on July 7th 1968 selling his racing cars - exactly the same prints we have here. He is ably assisted by John “Jack” Hobbs and Jack’s son Tony. The cars on the table are (from l to r) the 1955 BRM 16 cylinder, the 1951 Alfa Romeo Type 158-9 and the 1958 Vanwall.
October 17-19 at Salisbury Racecourse exhibiting our beautiful prints - and selling a lot!
